Identify the vehicle beyond the badge

A 4WD or ute can have different engines, drivetrains, bodies and accessories within the same model name. Those details help us identify what you are selling. A work ute with a tray and a family SUV need different descriptions, even if both are unwanted vehicles.

Model and configuration

Tell us the year, engine, transmission and whether it is 2WD, AWD or 4WD. For a ute, include the cab type and whether it has a tray or tub.

Condition and equipment

Describe mechanical faults, accident damage, rust and missing parts. Mention accessories that remain with the vehicle rather than assuming they are included.

Size and location

Tell us about lifted suspension, oversized tyres, a canopy, roof equipment or restricted access. Photos of the parked vehicle help explain its overall size.

Damaged, non-running and retired work vehicles

We consider older 4WDs, unwanted SUVs, damaged utes and vehicles with mechanical problems. If a work vehicle is being replaced, describe its present condition and what equipment will remain when sold.

Disclose known water exposure or damage and whether the car can roll and steer. Do not attempt repairs or unsafe recovery work simply to obtain a quote. The team needs an accurate description to discuss what can be collected.

What to include in a 4WD quote request

  • Make, model, year, engine and transmission.
  • Drivetrain and body style, including ute cab and tray details.
  • Whether it starts, drives, rolls and steers.
  • Visible damage, known faults and parts already removed.
  • Accessories that are included in the sale.
  • Pickup suburb, parking location and clearance restrictions.

There is no fixed offer for all 4WDs or all utes. The actual vehicle and its condition determine the assessment. Read how we assess cash offers before comparing quotes.

Before the collection

Empty storage boxes, remove tools and personal belongings, and decide which removable equipment you intend to keep. Tell the team about any changes before confirming the offer. Equipment left in the vehicle should be discussed as part of the handover.

Arrange access through gates and check whether the parked vehicle is under a low roof or in a tight space. Our pickup guide explains what information to send about difficult locations.

Questions before you book

Do you only buy four-wheel-drive vehicles?

No. We also consider SUVs and utes. Tell us the actual drivetrain rather than relying on the model name.

Can you quote a ute with a missing engine?

Describe the vehicle’s completeness and location. The team can assess the enquiry without assuming it is a standard complete vehicle.

Are accessories included in the offer?

Explain which accessories will remain and ask how they have been considered. Do not remove agreed equipment after accepting an offer without discussing it.
